We
personally manage our alpaca breeding program and provide
all the daily care and feeding of our alpacas. We emphasize health
and conformation, then fineness and uniformity, and finally density
and crimp. Our careful breedings strive for cria with genetic gain
over their parents' individual qualities. In this regard, both our
award-winning herdsires and selected outside herdsires are utilized
to achieve these goals, as well as to ensure genetic diversity.
Our breeding stock ranges from fawn to black, and we are concentrating
on my personal favorites of brown and black. The goal is to generationally
breed our colored huacayas so that their fleece characteristics
rival the finest currently available in white.
Don Raul is our multi-champion
true black male. His ancestry includes 6Peruvian Royal Gold (Alianza/Antacalla)
and Accoyo Felix while sporting grey in his lineage. POAA
Chocolate Swirl, a full Peruvian medium brown out of rosegrey
582 Calypso, won a blue ribbon in his only show appearance this
spring. We'll begin to show our alpacas in earnest this fall 2008
and expect Swirl to add to his ribbons, as well as start his breeding
career.
Our selection of foundation dams
highlights our focus on diversity and solid genetics as a base upon
which to build our colored huacaya program. On our females page,
you'll find a combination of Peruvian imports, Bolivian and Chilean
genetics, and imports of Canadian-bred dams.
Please call or to discuss how our program can benefit your
business and breeding program, or to schedule a visit.
Our herdsires are available for limited outside breedings at a
special introductory price. Call to schedule yours today!
