Foundation Huacaya Alpacas

Socks got her nickname from the four white socks on her feet. She was one of our first cria and has joined our group of foundation females. She got all the fabulous traits of her parents - perfect bite, dense fleece, uniform crimp, and a nice handle in a 23 micron adult blanket. She is a little short/stocky, but it's not genetic. She was so parasite laden as a cria/weanling, the farm where she was boarded at had to take her to Ohio State to save her. Glad she made it - Socks is a friendly female, great mother, and an integral part of our herd.

Gemaika is one of our favorites with a friendly and inquisitive personality. She has nice brown fleece with excellent fineness, uniformity and handle and next to no guard hair! Gemaika was never in the show ring as we concentrated on males that year, but both her older siblings won multiple ribbons. Gemaika is technically "not for sale" - she is everything we look for in a dam - great bite, fine-fleeced and uniform with a soft handle and lack of medullation. Having said that, we do need room and as long as we own her sister or dam, we will consider an offer.

Patti will always be part of our foundation herd. Her dam, Garnett, was the first alpaca I ever purchased and a long-time farm favorite - affectionately known as "Gramma G". Patti's fleece is to die for - still about 18 microns at 6 years of age, with a high curvature, low CV, excellent brightness and a buttery handle. Patti's only downside is that she hasn't been able to deliver us viable offspring, yet. We gave her a year off and will be re-breeding her this year. Feb 2013 Update - Patti will be featured by the Alpaca Registry (ARI)at the AOBA National Conference & Show this spring! She made one of the Top5 lists of EPD traits and will be featured at the ARI booth throughout the show.
