Bayhawk is a stunning true black male that brings Canadian genetics to the Midwest. Bayhawk’s sire is full Bolivian OAR’s White Hawk, a son of “Studmaster” male In Excess - out of the renowned Acero Marka’s Sky Pilot. His dam, Omineca’s Picassa, brings the color to the equation. Her pedigree contains nothing but brown, black and grey and includes ancestors such as Zorro PC and Nukoka. She consistently throws quality in color.

Bayhawk has placed in every show he has ever entered, including color champion and reserve champion. Judges comment on his density, consistency, crimp, and perfect square frame, with comments such as “get your hands on this male - this is exactly what we breed for”.

When you look at this male, you will notice his compact size and dense bone. He has excellent conformation with a broad chest and pelvis, powerful, straight legs and a perfect bite. When you part his fleece, you’ll see awesome density with a very consistent crimp style. His crimp continues down his legs and up to his topknot. Staple length is another positive. When you put it all together, he shears over 12 pounds of beautiful fiber! Another quality we’re excited about is his lack of guard hair. The medullated fibers he does have are relatively close in micron and length to his secondaries, giving his fleece a very soft hand. Though he always showed as a true black, as he ages his fleece now grades dark silver grey.

He is passing along both his fiber and conformational qualities in his cria and has rightfully earned the top spot in our herdsire row.
